The Russian Bear Loosed ... Again



Nature abhors a vacuum.  When the current leadership of the United States decided the US would no longer maintain its leadership position in the world, a momentary vacuum was created.  As of March 4th, that vacuum was filled.  Vladimir Putin has returned to the Kremlin.  (Geez.  Even the word "Kremlin" causes my heart to go cold and my skin to crawl.)

The Russian bear, under the leadership of Vladimir Putin, is more than ready to take over the world leadership role from the United States.  That will mean that Mr. Obama can have the back seat he seems to crave so much.

If you are old enough to remember the Cold War, you certainly must be asking yourself if Putin's election as President of Russia means the kick-off of Cold War II.  The return to a bi-polar world could be just around the corner.

Putin has remarked that he sees the United States as a parasite on the world.  Now, that's not a very friendly thing to say, right?  Nevertheless, he said it, and, frankly, I believe he meant it.

Relations with Putin's Russia is going to get very complicated very fast.  Putin is known to long for the old Mother Russia and the gone -- but certainly not forgotten -- Soviet Union.  He'd like, very much, to reconstitute the old USSR.  And I expect he will attempt to, at least, recreate as much of it as he can.

Dealing with Putin is going to be tough -- very tough.  However, America is blessed with a President who is a "word man" and not an "action man."  I truly suspect Obama believes he can just overwhelm Putin with his soaring oratory and overcome him with just the weight of his WORDS.   As my British friends would say:  "Not Bloody Likely!"

Putin TALKS tough, and goes to great lengths to make sure he ACTS tough -- and is SEEN acting tough.

See how perception can have such a tremendous effect on foreign policy and practically everything else a country does outside its own borders.

Putin can, and will, make Obama's life much more complicated that it was before March 4th.

Right at, or near, the top of the list of problems Obama is going to have with Putin is the U.S. plans for the missile defense system deployment in Europe.  Even before Putin walks into his old/new office, that missile defense problem is deadlocked.  At least it is deadlocked as long as Obama remains President of the United States.

That may change in November -- if the US voters show Obama the door and place a stronger President in the Oval Office.  A new President may just say the heck with Russia and deploy the missile defense system and let the Russians howl all they want.

I suspect that, right off the bat, Putin will want to show off his Russian military might to the rest of the world.  Once again those Bear bombers will be bumping into US airspace off Alaska and they will most certainly be skirting our airspace along the eastern seaboard just as they did for decades during Cold War One.

Look for Putin to scrape together another Russian Navy from the scrap heap of a navy he now has.  If he is able to keep his nuclear submarines from exploding, he might even be able to get one or two out to blue water -- before they sink or blow up.

Never fear.  The Russians can be an industrious people.  It will not take long for them to rebuild their military and with the cash pouring in from their oil sales they will be able to afford it.

Just think about it.  While the US is cutting back on the size of our military the Russians will be working like crazy to build their military UP --  bigger and better than that of the old Soviet Union.  That ought to make for some sweet dreams tonight -- especially for us old codgers who remember what it was like facing down the Russians/Soviets at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin about fifty years ago.   Americans and Soviets were eyeball to eyeball, toe to toe, both sides leaning forward ... waiting, just waiting -- for the Third World War to begin.   Believe me when I tell you -- I do not long for the return of those days and that kind of international stress and strife.

Putin is a man of few words ... far fewer than Obama.  And, unlike Obama, he does not employ nuance.  Nosiree.  He can say Nyet! (NO!) quite clearly and forcefully, thank you!   Putin is famous (or infamous) for being intractable.  When he DOES say "nyet" ... the negotiations are ended, period.

The US can certainly expect to have problems with Putin's government in the Middle East.  That is already clear.  We've learned, just this week, that Russian troops have been deployed to Syria.  The Russian Navy was been represented in Syrian waters for a while now.

What we are about to see, I believe, is a rebuilding of the Russian superpower under Putin.  There is simply no way that can be good for America.

What will be even worse for America is to have Obama reelected and have to watch as Putin chews him up and spits him out.

Israel Shouldn’t Ask Obama for “Permission”

Israel doesn’t trust the Obama Administration.  That is plain. Israel is right not to do so.

There is no love lost between Israel’s government and the Obama administration. 

Somehow, the Obama Administration seems to have the mistaken opinion that Israel is a satellite state of America.  It isn’t. 

When America’s government continues to fly  representatives of the US State Department and the Pentagon into Israel with dictatorial attitudes and demanding Israel do things the Obama way and even demanding that Israel ask permission from the Obama Administration before they mount a raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities, you’d better believe the Israeli government is PO’ed.  In fact there are reports that Israel has filed a “demarche” with the US.  A demarche is a formal protest.  It is rare between “friends.”

Israel should not ask permission or even alert Washington when they execute the raid on Iran.  That is the nature of a secret operation.  You tell no one – period.  You certainly do not tell a government you don’t trust to keep the secret.

It has been a while since America has had such an amateurish foreign policy team.  They bring to mind the “gang who couldn’t shoot straight.”

Israel is well advised to stir as clear of the US State Department as it possibly can. The Department of Defense, under the Obama Administration, is not much better.

Israel is the only friend America has in the Middle East and Obama is losing that friend.  At times, it seems intentional.   One would think Obama is seeking to make it clear to the Islamic nations in the region that Israel is on its own. In more ways than one, Obama has made it obvious that he favors the Islamic nations over Israel. 

One look at the Islamic nations of the Middle East today and you quickly see the entire region is in flames – except for Israel. So much for Obama’s favor.

America’s extremely vocal President, early on in his term in office, made the decision to talk to Iran.  Apparently he had convinced himself that his oratorical skills would just melt the Iranians and he, Obama, would be the “Great Peacemaker” in the Middle East.  Well, that worked our just swell, didn’t it? 

One of the first things you learn on the playground of grade school is that you cannot negotiate with bullies.  You have to overpower them, one way, or the other.  Oftimes that means meeting violence with violence.  Reluctance to actually use violence against a bully will certainly guarantee one’s submission to the bully.  Having said that, it is interesting to note that Islam means “submission.” 

The on-going sabotage efforts by Israel’s Mossad and America’s various spy agencies, have had limited success.  It should be understood that those efforts are not going to bring Iran’s march toward acquiring a nuclear bomb to a halt.  At best those efforts will only slow the program.  But the threat remains and is, in fact, growing.

It is extremely difficult for Americans to accept that the recent American bellicosity framed as “warnings” to Iran by the Obama Administration are sincere.   If Americans don’t believe them, then how on earth can we expect the Iranians to believe them?  Even US government experts have been reported as opining that when the balloon goes up, they simply do not know how Obama will react.

Obama is quickly running out of options.  The threatened oil embargo now appears to be useless when sympathizing countries promise Iran they will make up the difference.  The string is about to run out for Obama and his promises.

The final option is a military strike to cripple or destroy Iran’s nuclear facilities.  That strike will be carried out by the US, Israel, or both.

It would be wrong for America to stand on the sidelines and allow the destruction of Israel and maybe a few eastern European nations to boot – especially when it can be avoided.

America cannot afford to alienate Israel.  We need Israel just as they need us.

Russian Paranoia

Ever since America booted Russia out of the northwest territory of America, Russia has had a chip on its shoulder… at least, as far as America is concerned.  We go through cycles with Russia in which Russia loves America for a while, and then Russia hates America for a while.  The cycle seems to continue ad infinitum.

The one thing Russian governments seem to respect is American strength. Every time America elects a weak President, Russia arches her back, raises her hackles, and begins to growl threateningly.  And that is exactly what Russia’s Putin is doing right now. 

For those of you not as old as I am, take my word for it when I say – we have seen it all before.  Russia is a “paper tiger.” 

The Russian people are insecure at best.  They crave a strong central government.  They have never really known what it is like to be free of an all-powerful government and they fear that left to their own devices -- to be free, in other words, they will falter and fail.  They don’t seem to grasp the idea that THAT risk is a part of freedom – the right to fail.

As a result, they are an easy lot to manipulate – and Mr. Putin is a past master at doing just that.

With Russian elections looming, Putin is warning that the Russian government needs more power. (Read Russian government as: “Putin.”) 

Putin is planning a return to the Kremlin in the March elections and HE wants more power. 

Recently Putin told the Duma:  "We are still facing very many uncertainty factors and risks. And in case of a storm, a gale, a crisis, it is very important for the entire team to work in a cohesive manner, for the boat not to capsize." (SOURCE)

Uh-huh.

Oh, Putin will get the powers he wants.  Who is going to stop the ex-KGB official?  

If reference to the opposition party in Russia, Putin has said they should go along with the party in power and “not rock the boat.” He said with Russia experiencing much the same kind of economic downturn as the rest of the world, the opposition party should support the party in power so the “boat” doesn’t capsize. Just this week he said:  "in these circumstances, the ruling party always expects the opposition to behave in a calm manner and not to rock the boat. But these are vain hopes.”  (SOURCE)

Putin went on to say:  "The opposition exists to make sure that the ruling party, the ruling authorities could hold on to the levers of power more strongly and prove to society the correctness of the country's development course." (SOURCE)

Say WHAT?

Putin sounds like a Chicago gangster exclaiming: “Hey! Sit down and shut up!  Me and my boys got this covered!”  And believe me – Al Capone’s gang couldn’t hold a candle to Putin’s alma mater … the KGB.

Putin has gone to great pains to demonstrate the differences between himself and our less than esteemed President Barack Obama.  He is playing on the average Russian’s paranoia concerning the “American threat.”  Putin struts across the Russian stage, shirtless, (At every opportunity.  What’s that about, anyway?) taking great pains to display his masculinity – as if there was some question about that.  Apparently, there is – or was. On a trip to Italy last year Putin is quoted as having said:  “Mr. Medvedev and I are people of a traditional orientation.” (Source)  Ooooo - Kkkkk.

Then, too, there is Mr. Medvedev threatening to target American missile shield sites installed in Eastern Europe -- or in adjacent waters.  Oh, puh-lease!  Those are d e f e n s i v e missiles emplacements.  There are a couple of rogue nations in Russia’s backyard (North Korea and Iran).  By this time next year, EITHER of them could lob a nuclear missile into Eastern Europe causing much death and destruction and touch off a worldwide nuclear conflagration.

The Russian government NEEDS America.  Putin and Medvedev need a foil, off which to play, in order to increase their grasp on power over the Russian people. So, they threaten to fire on our defensive missile sites and, too, they dispatch Russian warships into Syrian waters as another threat to America -- should America, or America-led NATO, decide to intervene in the slaughter in Syria.

Peter the Great had to drag Russia, kicking and screaming, into modernity.  But, honestly, I don’t think “ole Pete” would be happy to learn how his Russia has chosen to allow it’s fear, it’s insecurity, and it’s paranoia, to, again, segregate itself from the civilized world and slip back into the familiarity of it’s much loved primal darkness.

Russia is a disappointment to the world.

The world press is assuring us that Israel will strike Iran by Christmas.  Hedging their bets, a bit, some proclaim: early in the New Year. 

Now, while I am all for an Israeli strike on Iran to take out Iran’s nuclear facilities, I am troubled by all the extremely public saber rattling. It isn’t like the Israeli military to make a public show of military preparations for a raid.

Having read and consulted Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War” on numerous occasions, I can see the importance of keeping the enemy guessing and off balance by playing the world’s media like a Stradivarius.   First class militaries, the world over, know one of the greatest weapons they have at their disposal is the near total ignorance of military maneuvering by the press.  Call it misinformation or propaganda; the world’s premier armed forces spoon-feed it to the world press.  That’s what I think is happening now.

Yes, Israel is going to strike Iran. I haven’t a clue when.  And that is the way Israel wants it.   In the meantime they have Iran’s nerves on edge and that gives Israel the advantage.

Look.  I can relate to Israel.  I remember a scrawny kid in my high school class.  He was the bookworm of our class.  Plus, he wore glasses. You just KNOW he caught the dickens, right?  You’d be wrong.  See, he earned the reputation of being that “crazy kid who would hurt you badly if you messed with him.”  And that was true.  He would attack, with the least provocation, his classmates, even his adult teachers, if he felt threatened. Only the unenlightened messed with him … and then only once. That kid spent a lot of time in the Principal’s office, and in the Superintendent’s office.  Yet, somehow, he managed to graduate at, or near, the top of his class and win election as the student body president … and he dated some of the prettiest girls in his class.  

Yes, I knew him very well.  He was small – but he was determined not to be bullied – and -- he would HURT you!  He didn’t give a darn whether you liked him, or not.  But you would be very wrong not to respect him.

See, he learned to harness and channel that fears and his concerns and make them work to HIS advantage. 

Normal human beings understand that a frightened human being is earth’s most dangerous animal. A cornered, frightened, animal (including human beings) will lash out and commit totally unexpected actions risking everything, including their lives, because they believe they have absolutely nothing to lose. Often they are successful in extricating themselves from harm simply because their behavior was unexpected.

Now.  Refocus on Israel.  Israel is small, arguably frightened, and -- Israel will most certainly hurt anyone suffering from the lack of common sense that would cause the wary to avoid a military confrontation with (some would argue) the second best military on earth. 

But, then there are fanatics, all over the globe, blinded by religious zeal that are more than ready to sacrifice their lives to appease some god or other.  They are the people who pose the greatest danger to all normal human beings on the earth. I have long accepted that when confronted with a man intent on giving his life in an effort to take mine, the kind thing to do is expedite his journey and send him on to his afterlife and allow him to sort it all out with his personal deity.

One must consider that Israel is confronted with this sort of paradise mania every day.  For the most part, we here in the west have come late to this fray.  Only in the past decade, or so, have we really come to understand the toll of living under conditions of constant threat.  And we Americans STILL do not comprehend that Israel can lose its entire country, its very existence, in a single “lucky” blow from its enemies.

Iran intends to wipe Israel from the map.  They have told us so in plain English.  That was no threat.  It was a statement of intent.  Israel would be foolish to believe otherwise.  And Israel is NOT foolish.

Iran with nuclear capabilities is a threat that cannot be tolerated by Israel.  It ought not be tolerated by the European nations and the United States.  But, unfortunately, we have a President who feels more at home with the weak-kneed European governments than with real warriors like the Israelis.

I am satisfied that Israel is going to attack Iran -- and soon.  If things were, as they ought to be in Washington, DC, the United States would be flying alongside those Israeli aircraft dropping bunker-busting bombs on Iran’s underground nuclear facilities.  One must remember that Iran has boasted that their first nuclear bomb is for Israel and their second nuclear bomb is intended for the United States.  We Americans are under a nuclear threat from Iran just as the Israelis.

When we step back and look objectively at current events on this planet, it is easy to ascertain that Israel has a much better leader in Benjamin Netanyahu than the United States has in B. Hussein Obama.  That is VERY clear.

I honestly think there is a streak of envy in Mr. Obama, envy over Mr. Netanyahu’s leadership capabilities. That would explain Obama’s public snubbing of Mr. Netanyahu.  The differences are so clear.  Mr. Netanyahu, as a former Israeli Special Forces officer, understands that a leader leads from the front.  Mr. Obama has PUBLICLY proclaimed his preference for leading from behind.  The two men could not be MORE different. 

While the leaders of these two nations are so different the peoples are more alike than different.   Many Americans consider Israel something of an extension of the United States.  We feel drawn to offer protection to Israel and we hate it when the US government fails to back Israel to the hilt.

If Israel is forced to go it alone against Iran, President Obama will most certainly feel it at the ballot box next year.  That is a promise.

Russian Bear on the Prowl Again

Winston Churchill once said of Germany:  “They are either at your knees -- or at your throat.”  Americans can say much the same thing about Russia.

Russia has not been happy with America since we kicked them out of what is now the northwestern United States. Of course, they weren’t all that pleased with us BEFORE that.

When you read Russia’s history, you learn fairly quickly they have a built-in inferiority complex, which is complicated by a mile wide streak of paranoia.  It makes them totally unreliable and volatile at the same time.  It appears, from their history, their physcological problems also make them subject to capitulation to practically every “alpha male” strongman who comes along and struts before them like some lovesick peacock.

Russia has had some monumentally bad guys in charge of their country.  Many of those scoundrels have murdered thousand and even hundreds of thousands of the Russian people.  Yet, when given a chance to free themselves and set up a real democracy in a free country, they squandered it and fell back into their old comfort zone where they were, and are, ruled by strongmen and a ruling elite in a country where there can never be a middle class -- only the elite and the peasants.  But, it would seem that is exactly what they want.  It is certainly what they seem most comfortable with.

See, democracy (especially a republican form of democracy) is hard work. Some nations, some peoples, just simple are not willing to put out the effort it takes to win one’s freedom and then preserve that freedom for the generations to come. Alas, it appears the Russian people are such a people.

Vladimir Putin, shirtless, flexing his muscles, and strutting and preening before the world press’s cameras is only the latest in Russian strongmen.  At least HE fancies himself as such.  To much of the free world, he appears as a full-blown narcissist straining at the leash to wreak havoc on the Russian people and slap chains and shackles upon those nations most recently freed from the grasp of the old Soviet Union. 

Soon, Putin will be in a position to do just that.  Sadly, the United States has been so weakened by the Obama Administration we will not be able to do a single thing about stopping Putin and his drive for Russian hegemony in Europe.   Putin, a would-be tin pot dictator, is counting on Obama’s reluctance to do anything more than talk.  He, like every other mischief-maker in the world has learned that Obama is good for only one thing – speechifying.  THAT is something a number of conservative commentators pointed out long before he (Obama) was elected to the Presidency of the United States.

Putin’s calling America “a parasite on the world” would have been answered, I feel certain, by every other President in US history -- but not by Obama. 

See, Obama prefers leading from the rear.  Ask any military veteran how they feel about a commanding officer leading from the rear.  Ask them how much respect that engenders in the enemy for that fearful leader.  Their answer will tell you all you need to know about Putin’s in-your-face strategy to recreate the old Soviet Union. He knows there is nobody to offer any serious resistance to his efforts -- especially not the US under Obama.

Being broke is bad enough, but the US, as a former super power brought to its knees by the Obama administration, now stands naked before the world.  You can bet our enemies have been waiting for this moment for decades and they will not allow it to pass with taking their pound of flesh. 

Russia is an enemy of the United States. Lets be clear about that.  There is no love lost between the US and Russia.  If Putin is given just half a chance to give America a black eye, he WILL do it. 

Yes, Putin IS a clown -- but a dangerous clown.  He strikes many as a bully who cannot wait to don his old KGB uniform and begin “busting” heads once again.  His old cohort stands ready to do his bidding.  The FSB, which is really just the old KGB with a new name, is a ready tool at Putin disposal.

A little history lesson might be in order for the current world dictators and would be dictators:  America, at it’s weakest, came out of a crushing depression to fight and win a world war totally annihilating Germany and Japan.  America has always been a warrior nation.  As such, we are most dangerous when we are at our weakest.  We have a unique ability to put aside our differences and focus on the enemy attacking us until that enemy is eradicated. We are the world’s fiercest warriors when our backs are to the wall.

Japan’s Admiral Yamamoto understood that.  When he bombed Pearly Harbor he is reported to have said  (Paraphrasing now) … I can have my way in the Pacific for six months.  He is also reported to have said:  “We have awakened a sleeping tiger.” 

See, Yamamoto, having been educated the US and having spent many years here, knew that America would take a moment to lick its wounds and then would go after its enemies with a degree of vengeance unknown in the annals of history. 

America did just that.  And when the contest was ended, America’s enemies were profoundly defeated.  Weapons undreamt of by man, until that sleeping tiger was awakened, wiped out entire cities with hundreds of thousands, even millions of America’s enemies slain.

Yet, there are those, for whatever reason, who will seek to take advantage of what they see as America’s state of vulnerability.     

I am concerned that our Islamic enemies will take this opportunity to slam America’s homeland with another enormous terror attack, especially as we near the tenth anniversary of 911.  I worry more about that than I do about the prowling Russian bear.  Putin lacks the finesse of Al Qaida, or the Taliban.  He is far too ham-fisted, and besides, strikes many as favoring a blade to the back over a fist to the nose, anyway.

America’s enemies should take notice.  They should never underestimate the American people’s will to fight – even when their leader is weak and favors words over war.  Besides, America has a history of removing and replacing those leaders – post haste.

The damage the Obama Administration has done to America is historical. That, plus the embarrassment of deliberately removing America from is rightful place in the leadership of the world is more than enough reason for Americans to remove Obama and friends and send them packing.  Only then can America’s renewal begin.

Until then, it is advisable for America’s enemies to maintain a low profile.  Understand:  Americans are more than a little angry these days.  Even the slightest provocation may well be met with retaliation of biblical proportions.

Now is not the time to poke the sleeping tiger with a stick.  She may be sleeping again, but awakening her with ill intent will only bring your own destruction.

The Battle For Jerusalem Has Begun

Earlier, on April 4^th, Ahmadinejad said: “A Mideast without Israel and America is now possible.” (Source)

American evangelical Christians are backing Israel now, more than ever, as they interpret Obama’s rejection of Israel as the fulfillment of Bible prophesy in reference to the so-called “end-times.”

In the Scriptures, as the huge armies gather from, in my opinion, Russia, China, and the Arab Nations to bring all their power to bear in a combined effort to destroy Israel, it becomes clear that the US will not intervene on Israel’s behalf.

The alignment of nations against Israel today is eerily like the alignment of the great nations from the North (Russia), from the East (China) and from the South (the Arab Nations) … in fact, EXACTLY as laid out in the scriptures.

(As Iran is backed by Russia, we have to add Iran to the Army from the North. Remember, too, the Iranians are not Arabs.  They are Persians.)

Students of Bible prophecy, observing the events unfolding in the Middle East today, are fairly trembling with anticipation. Observing the events they have studied for so long seem suddenly to be prophecy no longer -- but real world fact -- is sending shock waves of jubilation through certain denominations within the Christian faith.

Why?

Because their faith teaches that when they see these things happening -- then their “redemption is nigh.”  In other words, the Rapture of the Church is at hand. 

Look.  This is important stuff!  Whether you are Christian, or not, whether you are a believer, or not.  Whether you are Gentile or Jew, agnostic, atheist, or secularist, there can be no question that an event of earth shaking importance is about to happen in the Middle East.  In fact, I believe it has already begun.

In my opinion, it is sensible to believe that, at some point, Iran will attack Israel with nuclear weapons -- unless, of course, Israel takes Iran’s nuclear capability away. Israel has first AND second strike nuclear capabilities … NOW. 

The situation in the Middle East is so fluid that it is difficult to stay abreast of it on a daily basis.  There is one thing fairly certain.  That is that Iran is in there, somewhere, pulling the strings that will leave them in the catbird’s seat when things begin to settle down. 

The creation of an Islamic caliphate has been suggested as Iran’s motivation.  That is certainly a possibility but I think it is much simpler.  It is, I believe, a power grab by the mad mullahs and their puppet Ahmadinejad. 

Do not be so naive as to believe that Israel has been sitting in its bunker while all the surrounding Muslims have been clawing at each other’s eyes.  Israel has, quite possibly, the best intelligence service existing on the planet today… far better than either the US or British intelligence services. If anyone knows what Iran is up to, what all the fighting in the Arab countries surrounding them is REALLY about -- it is Israel’s Mossad.  And that intelligence is in the hands of Israel’s IDF and their Prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, himself, a former member of the Israeli Special Forces.

Looking past religion … take a look at the price of gasoline today.  Now, consider this:  When the Muslims turn their rage on Israel, there is every reason to believe that the US oil supply from the Middle East will be cut off –completely.  The Suez Canal will last … maybe… 48 hours, as will the Straits of Hormuz.  That means, what … eight or ten dollars a gallon gasoline?  We should be so lucky!

Now, I am not a theologian.  I’m not a prophet.  I’m not an “expert” on anything I am aware of … believe me.  I’d like to think I’m a fair “pamphleteer” …  and that’s about all.  But, I am aware of what’s going on round me.  I make a real effort to stay informed on current events … and I don’t mean the lives of movie and TV celebrities and/or royalty.

Too often I have had friends say to me, when I question them about current events:  “I don’t worry about that because there is nothing I can do about it, anyway.”  That cop-out won’t fly any longer. Do you realize that a virtual hand-full of Americans changed one half of the national legislative body of the United States last November?

By this coming fall, I expect we will see a strong push by the Obama Administration, in league with the UN, to force upon Israel a Palestinian state -- and in the process take away a portion of the city of Jerusalem in the deal.  Any fool can already see that such a move will only bring on war between the two states and Israel will conquer and take back that which is rightfully her’s and, I expect when the dust is finally settled, Israel will own ALL of the land God gave them … not just that sliver they hold today.

So. When is the Battle of Armageddon?  I have no idea. But this I do know:  Hung out to dry by the US and much of western Europe and the English speaking world, Israel will still have any ally. See. Like so many others of my generation – I have read the book – and I know how it ends.  Israel will win -- decisively!

Oh. Israel’s ally?  Just God.

Libyan Rebels Advancing -- to the REAR! A Commentary by J. D. Longstreet I watched a couple of commentators gently arguing with each other, a few days ago, about who was winning the fight in Libya. The commentator from the left proclaimed the rebels were winning and she was interrupted by the commentator from the right who asked the piercing question: If they are winning why are they going in the wrong direction? He went on to say the rebels were going east while Gaddafi and his troops were in the west. I had to laugh as I remembered the expression coined during the Korean conflict (WAR) when American troops were in retreat from the communist Chinese troops. The US commander declared his troops were not retreating; they were simply advancing in another direction. While we armchair generals assess Obama's efforts at playing soldier, we would find it amusing were it not for the fact that lives are being lost in a cause that, without troops on the ground, is already a lost cause. Any military veteran can tell you that superior air power will enable a force to clear a piece of ground of the enemy. But air power, alone, cannot secure that piece of ground. It requires troops on the ground, infantry, artillery, etc to hold that piece of real estate. The same applies to a country. Obama's War in Libya is already a mess. In my time in the military we had what was known as a SNAFU. Interpreted it is an acronym that stands for: "Situation Normal -- All F**ked-up!" Later, as things got worse, the term FUBAR came into use. It, too is an acronym which stands for: "F**Ked-up Beyond All Recognition!" What we are seeing in Libya is a SNAFU quickly turning into a FUBAR! FUBARS occur when you have commanders at the top who haven't a clue what they are doing. They tend to always make the situation, whatever it is, worse! A couple of two-man teams from the military base near me, here in North Carolina, could relieve the world of a madman, in a few days, and the thorn in the side of the world would be removed. Many lives would be saved. These men are specially trained to do those "wet" jobs and like ghosts never leave any provable evidence of their ever having been there -- thus, providing the President with "plausible deniability." Contrary to what you may have heard, or read, or been told, there is no US law forbidding the killing of the leader of another country. There is only a presidential directive, or executive order, which can be changed by the issuance of another directive from the then serving President. So far Obama's War resembles a dog chasing its tail. It is furiously going round and round but making no discernable progress -- at all. So -- now that the North Atlantic Treaty Organization -- NATO -- has the reins (NATO is simply another name for the US military when it doesn't want the world to know that it is controlling the on-going unpopular military action in which the US is deeply involved.) The 28 members are tying themselves in knots trying to decide whether to arm the rebels or not. My guess is -- eventually, NATO WILL arm the rebels and send in advisers and dig themselves deeper into the mire that is Obama's War. All this shortly before ground troops hit the Libyan beaches to liberate that country. The toppling of Gaddafi will be quickly followed by stratospherically expensive "nation building." Yeah. As a retired US general said recently, "I've seen this movie before." It is all too familiar. Allow me to inquire -- isn't it reasonable to determine WHO, exactly, the so-called rebels ARE before we begin airdropping weapons to them? You'd think we would have learned our lesson in Afghanistan. We armed the Taliban only to have them use those weapons against US troops decades later. Common sense and the history of the region would certainly cause one to be leery of arming a force that may be our friend today and our enemy tomorrow. We are already getting reports out of Libya that a number of the rebels are affiliated with al Qaida. It would be reasonable to believe there are contingents of the Muslim Brotherhood within the ranks of the rebels as well. Shouldn't this be a HUGE FLASHING CAUTION SIGN? As we said above, Obama's War is quickly turning into the fabled FUBAR from its current SNAFU condition. I might point out that this sort of mess is the risk America takes every time it elects a President with no military service in his, or her, resume. Maybe the Republicans ought to be looking within the ranks of the military for a presidential candidate to run against Obama in the 2012 election. I mean -- what would it hurt? As of this writing, none of the current crop of candidates, or would-be candidates, has a snowball's chance of claiming victory over Obama in 2012. J. D. Longstreet

Nothing much surprises me -- if it happens in the Middle East. With the region awash in so much hatred we have come to expect constant conflict among tribes, religious sects, and well, everyman’s hand is raised against his brother and his brother’s hand is raised against him. It has been that way since Abraham licked Hagar and Ishmael (Abraham’s son by Hagar) out of the camp at the behest of Sarah, Abraham’s wife. In other words – it has been exactly as we see it today for thousands and thousands of years.

I am troubled, though, by the political left’s seeming glee at the demonstrations of raw emotion by what THEY refer to as “demonstrations” and I refer to as “riots.”

Americans must be careful not be to fooled by the left’s characterization of the riots all across the Middle East. They would have us believe they are driven by the grassroots desire for democracy in the Middle East. What the left fails to explain, however, is the fact that a democratic election in any country now aflame has a far better than even chance of having an outcome that will not favor continued freedom in that country, in which event, it most certainly will not be a favorable outcome for the US.

What is to prevent the voters from electing someone to office who will strip their newfound freedom from them and saddle them with another dictatorship? I mean, these are not the most sophisticated voters on the planet. Heck, countries make huge mistakes at the polls. Look at America. We elected Barack Obama president because it was politically correct to elect the first black president, even though at least half of the American electorate knew at the time, and even warned, that he was one of the least qualified candidates ever to run for the office.

Look, too, at what electing Obama has cost America, -- and the world. One has to wonder how much blame for the “up-risings” in the Middle East can be laid at the feet of Obama. His mismanagement of America’s interests in the region was, and continues to be, totally, well, pitiful.

Obama’s Olympic-like dragging of the feet inspired some to think conspiracy theories such as – maybe the Obama Regime was actually involved, somehow, in inspiring those “riots” in Egypt. Hey, just because it is a theory – does not mean there wasn’t a conspiracy!

Now the left has rolled out “Dufus the First” – Jimmy Carter, to assure us we have nothing to fear from the Muslim Brotherhood. Only a child takes Mr. Carter seriously.

At a lecture at the University of Texas earlier this week, Carter, said: "I think the Muslim Brotherhood is not anything to be afraid of in the upcoming (Egyptian) political situation and the evolution I see as most likely. They will be subsumed in the overwhelming demonstration of desire for freedom and true democracy."

WHAT???

See, the left creates these child-like scenarios and then -- they fall in love with their own creations and they BELIEVE them – no matter how ridiculous they are. That explains their utter and complete failure to grasp reality at its most elemental.

When the dust finally settles in Egypt, the Muslim Brotherhood will have some, of not total, control of the government of that hapless country. To believe anything else is pure fantasy. Once again, the left will be mugged by their own creation – a dream that becomes a nightmare.

I fear the greatest problem for America, as a result of all this unrest in the Middle East, is the strong likelihood that it will spread to southern and eastern Europe fairly soon and, eventually, to the United States, itself.

As I write, the tipping point may, in fact, be about to occur. If Israel’s IDF and the Iranian Navy’s warships go at each other, there can be no doubt the IDF will send the Iranian ships to the bottom of the Mediterranean. That COULD be the incident that will be used to direct all that Muslim anger and hatred flooding the so-called “Arab Street” toward Israel -- and THAT is when the proverbial “ship hits the sand.”

I am continually amazed at the naiveté of the political left. They remind me of children playing with matches. They are enthralled at the thought that they can make fire but they do not seem to understand the very high probability of self-immolation.

Each new disaster in foreign affairs by the Obama Regime only makes the US weaker in the eyes our enemies -- as well as our allies. And it is only going to get worse until America can shake itself loose from the liberal-socialist leadership (or lack thereof) coming from the Obama Oval Office.

Like a millstone hung from the neck of America, the Obama Regime is dragging America deeper into the depths with no chance of climbing to the surface until we free ourselves from its fatal weight.

Is it just me – or does Gaddafi, of Libya, strike anyone else as a living, breathing, cartoon character?

The guy is LOONIE! Or, perhaps, he just WANTS us to THINK he is a NUT! Well, he convinced me rather a long time ago.

When Ronald Reagan sent him a message, via a bomb dropped in the front yard of his tent, Gaddafi suddenly quieted down, at least for a while.

Now, however, he seems intent on rattling cages in the Middle East, Europe, and at the Obama White House.

Do you honestly think that if Reagan, or George Bush, were still in the White House Gaddafi would be shooting off his mouth and egging on the Palestinians to revolt against Israel? Not hardly!

Dear readers, it is called R E S P E C T! It is that thing Mr. Obama is not accorded by the “Middle Eastern Madmen.” They don’t respect him and they do not fear him.

Just look at Gaddafi’s ill-advised suggestion to the so-called “Palestinians.”

He reportedly said: “"We need to create a problem for the world.” (SOURCE) Gaddafi was suggesting that “Palestinian refugees should capitalize on the wave of popular revolts in the Middle East by massing peacefully on the borders of Israel until it gives in to their demands, …” (SOURCE)

In an article by Reuters, Gaddafi is quoted as having said: "All Arab states which have relations with Israel are cowardly regimes." (SOURCE) He went on to issue a call to Muslim countries to join forces against Western powers.

Now, ordinarily, this would not trouble me a great deal. But, I must tell you, with Obama in the White House, I am convinced the Middle Eastern Madmen feel they have not just an extremely weak, indecisive, leader of the west but, I am also convinced, they see Obama as a friend and an ally.

All the while, Israel, the only county in the Middle East the US can actually consider a friend, is being hung out to dry by the Obama Administration. Obama’s conduct towards Israel is shameful.

At the swearing-in ceremony for Israel’s new army chief Major General Benny Gantz, Benjamin Netanyahu, Israel’s Prime Minister said: "An earthquake is shaking the whole Arab world and a large part of the Muslim world and we don't yet know how these things will turn out.” Netanyahu went on to say: "We are ready for all eventualities because we know that the foundation of our existence, and our capacity to convince our neighbors to live in peace with us, is based on the Israeli army," (SOURCE)

Over the past weekend, Egypt’s Defense Minister, Hussein Tantawi, acting as the head of the Egyptian government, spoke with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Tantawi reportedly told Barak that Egypt remained committed to their bilateral peace agreement. Israeli officials reported this. They said it was the first high-level contact between Israel's government and Egypt's new rulers. (SOURCE)

If true, that would take SOME pressure off Israel’s southern border.

Look. Everyone in Israel understands that once the bloodlust of their Muslim enemies is whipped up sufficiently, Israel is going to be attacked. They might not know when, exactly, the attack is coming, but they KNOW it IS coming.

The three AM phone call to the White House has come – and nobody answered!

The Obama Regime is so far behind the curve on this entire Middle Eastern conflagration that, well, honestly, as an American, I am embarrassed. Obama’s ineptitude in managing foreign affairs is on a par with his ability to manage domestic affairs – and we all know he has failed, utterly, on the home front.

And so, our only friend in the region, Israel, is on her own. The US no longer has Israel’s back. She is exposed to those who have vowed to wipe Israel from the map.

How serious is this? Most Americans cannot even imagine the magnitude of what may happen if the Islamic thug nations gang up on Israel and Israel cannot count on the US for support. Let me spell it out for you: ATOMIC WAR IN THE MIDDLE EAST!

Ever hear of “The Samson Option?" “The Samson Option is a term used to describe Israel’s alleged deterrence strategy of massive retaliation with nuclear weapons as a “last resort” against nations whose military attacks threaten its existence, and possibly against other targets as well.” (SOURCE)

Israel will have no choice but to loose her “Atomic Arsenal.” No choice ... unless … you consider complete annihilation of Israel some sort of choice.

Make no mistake. Israel will be fighting for her life, for her continued existence as a country. She WILL do whatever it takes to survive. There can be NO Question, whatsoever, that she will use her ultimate weapons to destroy the capital cities of her enemies and, most likely, the holy places of Islam will be caught up in the nuclear holocaust, as well.

I don’t think the Obama White House understands the gravity of the situation in the Middle East. The old hands at the CIA, the NSA, and the other intelligence agencies do, I believe. But their bosses, Obama’s handpicked political hacks from the left, have the screws on tight.

The Middle Eastern powder keg, we have so often warned about in the past, now has a lighted fuse. If that fuse is not snuffed, and snuffed soon, it is going to blow.

It has become abundantly clear that Obama is simply not up to the task of dealing with anything more serious than a teleprompter with a blown fuse. As I said above, I am embarrassed that my fellow Americans could have been so blinded by political correctness that we insisted on electing such an awesomely unqualified person to lead our country.

Obama is leading America to economic disaster, while allowing Israel, our friend, to face annihilation … alone.

The build up of US troops and naval asserts off the shores of Iran continues with the arrival of a third carrier off the coast of Iran. It is supported by amphibious assault ships and up to 4,000 Navy and Marine Corps personnel, bringing the total US strength in those waters to three carriers and 10,000 combat personnel. This report is from Debkafile HERE.

The report from Debkafile goes on to say: “The third US carrier group to reach waters around Iran consists of three vessels: 1. The USS Nassau Amphibious Assault ship is not just an enormous landing craft for the 3,000 Marines aboard; its decks carry 6 vertical take-off AV-HB Harrier attack planes; four AH-1W Super Cobra, twelve CH-46 Sea Knight and CH-53 Sea Stallion helicopters, as well as choppers convertible to fast V-22 Osprey airplanes capable of landing in any conditions. This vast warship has 1,400 cabinets for sleeping the entire Marine-24th Marine Expeditionary Unit aboard.”

2 - The amphibious transport dock ship USS Mesa Verde, which carries 800 Marines equipped for instantaneous landing.

3 - The amphibious dock landing ship USS Ashland, which carries 400 Marines and 102 commandos, trained for special operations behind enemy lines.”

Debkafile continues: “These new arrivals are a massive injection of naval, air and marine muscle to the strength Washington has deployed in the Persian Gulf-Red Sea-Indian Ocean arena in recent months. The USS Harry S. Truman Carrier Strike Group consisting of twelve warships is cruising in the Arabian Sea opposite Chah Bahar, the Iranian Revolutionary Guards biggest naval base not far from the Iranian-Pakistan border. It is there that most of Iran's special commando units are housed.

Also posted in the Arabian Sea, further to the west, is the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower Strike Group.”

This is an excellent report, from Debkafile, on the buildup of US Military assets around Iran. Makes one wonder why domestic news organizations seem to have difficulty in covering events such as this for its American readers, does it not?

This scribe has been, for a very long time now, relying upon foreign news organizations to keep abreast of news concerning America and American interests around the globe.

The information in the report above is important for Americans to know. However, the American mainstream media so filters what they print and broadcast that it is nigh impossible to get a “big picture” of world happenings and how they affect America. If the report happens to concern Israel, the American mainstream media seems to go out of its way to reflect the Obama Regime’s anti-Israel/pro-Islamic state’s bias.

Look, there is a third war brewing in the Middle East -- one the US may find itself drawn into -- whether the Obama Regime wants it -- or not.

We have been warning, for many months now, that Israel and Iran are preparing for a military engagement. It is as sure to come as tomorrow’s sunrise. When it happens, it COULD trigger another regional war, with Israel the target, or—it could not. Some things are just NOT predictable.

International reports tell us a number of the Arab states, while publicly decrying an Israeli strike on Iran, are quietly supporting Israel. But the Iranian-sponsored terrorists surrounding Israel will, most certainly, strike Israel upon learning of the attack on Iran’s nuclear facilities.

But the strike IS coming – and soon. Israeli planning has been meticulous and is, far the most part (we gather from foreign news reports) complete.

There have been hints and signs for many months of the Israeli preparations. As late as June 18th “the aircraft carrier USS Harry S Truman and task group including the German frigate Hessen, in the company of an unidentified Israeli naval vessel, made a fast transit of the Suez Canal. The Egyptians not only closed the canal to all traffic, all fishing boats where docked, while the Egyptian military lined the banks of the canal. All facets of this passage rank as extraordinary. It is readily apparent that the US Department of State and the Pentagon collaborated closely with an Arab country to create a lane of fast transit not only for US Navy assets and an attached NATO ally, but for an Israeli ship.” This report can be found in the Asia Times HERE.

In the same article it is reported that another application of high technology was the launch on June 11, 2007, of Ofek-7, which is a reconnaissance satellite, giving Israeli intelligence specialists site and system mapping capability of unprecedented accuracy. Military experts believe Ofek-7 undoubtedly contributed to strike planning for the IAF's successful mission to bomb Syrian nuclear facilities.

At the same time there has been reports of American troop movements along the borders of Iran.

An Article at IsraeliNationalNews.com reports the following: “Iran is bordered on the east by Pakistan and Afghanistan, where U.S. troops have been waging a costly war, in terms of money and lives, against Taliban, Al-Qaeda and other terrorists. The Persian Gulf is on Iran’s southern border, and last week’s report, confirmed by the Pentagon, that 11 warships had sailed through the Suez Canal, raised alarm bells that the U.S. is ready to fight to keep the Persian Gulf open.” We urge you to read the entire article HERE.

Iran has threatened to close the waterway through which 40% of the world’s oil is transported by tanker ship. The US has vowed to keep the Gulf open; especially the Straits of Hormuz -- to keep the world’s oil supply flowing.

Kuwait is located on the southwestern border of Iran. There are a number of American bases located there.

To the west of Iran are Turkey and Iraq -- and BOTH have American bases and troops.

Turkmenistan, the Caspian Sea, and Azerbaijan are Iran’s neighbors to the north. There have been news reports from that area of unusually high American troop activity along the Turkmenistan/Iran border. (Just last year the US made a deal with Turkmenistan for military cooperation between the two countries.)

Shortly after a British newspaper reported that Saudi Arabia had given Israel “fly-over” authority for a raid on Iran, the Iranian news agency reported that Saudi Arabia had also given permission for Israel to store military supplies at a Saudi airbase in the northwestern sector of the country. The report claimed that Israeli helicopters had already delivered and stored those supplies. Saudi Arabia denies both reports.

There are also reports, on the Internet, that Israel has as many as three submarines in the Persian Gulf. Again, we urge you to read the article, which was originally written by Christian A. DeHaemer, editor of the “Energy and Capital” publication. You will fine it HERE.

It seems to us that one would do well to prepare for the war to widen in the Middle East for, in the not too distant future, we Americans will awaken one morning to news reports that an air raid on Iran’s nuclear facilities has already taken place. After that – all bets are off.

Rep. Ted Poe, R-Texas claims “… … to have seen photographs taken by local sheriffs of Mexican military helicopters in action over U.S. territory. One copter was photographed hovering over a building; the other over a recreational vehicle park, according to the Examiner's Barbara Hollingsworth. "We don't know what their intention was," Poe told Hollingsworth, adding: "The Mexican military has no business coming into the United States." (SOURCE)

“The apparent apathy of President Obama and Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano is inexplicable. Texas Gov. Rick Perry recently asked Napolitano to dispatch unmanned surveillance drones and 1,000 additional U.S. soldiers to boost federal Border Patrol agents and local sheriffs in the effort to protect the border. Instead of heeding Perry's warning, Napolitano instead canceled the "virtual" border surveillance project approved under the Bush administration. That decision virtually leaves Perry and the governors of Arizona, New Mexico and California to cope with the increasing flood of illegal immigrants, drugs, money and guns coming over the border from Mexico.” (SOURCE)

As far as I am concerned and, I believe, the US Constitution demands, the primary task of the US Government is National Defense. Protection of US citizens from invasion by other countries would certainly fall within that definition.

Allow me to pose a question: What will the US government do when one of our US citizens raises his deer rifle and takes out the stabilizing propeller on the tail of one of those Mexican Army Helicopters and brings it down causing the death of those Mexican military personnel within? Don’t want to go there – do you?

Maybe I should ask: How long before the scenario above actually becomes a fait accompli? It WILL happen -- if the Mexicans continue to invade US airspace. I mean, it is recognized, internationally, as an act of war. (Yes, I have to ask: Are those Mexican helicopters the same helicopters paid for by U.S. taxpayers and given to Mexico by the U.S. government which are now being used to invade U.S. airspace? It is a fair question – is it not?)

If it is possible to be a bigger “wuss” than President Jimmy Carter was – then Obama certainly is. The man has bared the chest and neck of America to its enemies.

It will be a miracle if America is not invaded by a foreign power before the American electorate can get Obama out of the Oval Office.

America cannot survive with a weakling as President. America has a perpetual bulls eye painted on its back and we are the target for all sorts of mischief -- including invasion by our southern neighbor.

Just a few days ago I heard a radio talker, not a political talker, express his thoughts that the US should just make Mexico the 51st state and be done with it. More Americans than you might think are expressing that same feeling these days.

Nothing will be done to secure our borders until we are rid of the Utopian seeking Hippies in charge of the US Government today. That chance is coming -- Judgment Day -- November 2nd, 2010.

I hope it is a short summer.

NINTH AMENDMENT to the US Constitution: The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people.TENTH AMENDMENT to the US Constitution: The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

As I have observed over the past few months the “State Sovereignty Movement” continues to sweep the nation with well over three-quarters of the fifty states taking action, through their respective state legislatures, re-establishing their “sovereignty”.

It is being reported that there are over 40 states with state sovereignty declarations as of this writing. If true, that is heartening. There is no doubt the states have been relegated to second-class citizenship in the US. That is just WRONG and must be corrected!

We found reports on the Internet stating that THERE ARE 12 NEW STATE SOVEREIGNTY DECLARATIONS IN PROGRESS, RIGHT NOW!! THEY INCLUDE ALABAMA. NEBRASKA, Rhode Island, WYOMING, WASHINGTON, INDIANA, KENTUCKY, GEORGIA, KANSAS, MISSOURI, MISSISSIPPI, AND MARYLAND!

WYOMING is the newest constitutionally sovereign state. The bill was signed into law on March 8th, 2010. Utah did the same on the 25th of February 2010. The debate continues in my home state of South Carolina, but my guess is it will pass the state legislature and be signed into law by the “Sandlappers” very soon now.

Here in North Carolina, House Bill H849 “supporting the state’s right to claim sovereignty over certain powers under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States” has been filed.

Here’s the full text:

Whereas, the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States reads as follows: “The powers not delegated to the United States by the constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the states, respectively, or to the people;” and

Whereas, the Tenth Amendment defines the total scope of federal power as being that specifically granted by the Constitution of the United States and no more; and

Whereas, the scope of power defined by the Tenth Amendment means that the federal government was created by the states specifically to be an agent of the states; and

Whereas, today, in 2009, the states are demonstrably treated as agents of the federal government; and

Whereas, many federal mandates are directly in violation of the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States; and

Whereas, Section 4 of Article IV of the Constitution of the United States says, “The United States shall guarantee to every state in this union a republican form of government,” and the Ninth Amendment states that “The enumeration in the constitution of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people;” and

Whereas, the United States Supreme Court ruled in New York v. United States, 112 S. Ct. 2408 (1992), that Congress may not simply commandeer the legislative and regulatory processes of the states; and

Whereas, a number of proposals from previous administrations and some now pending from the present administration and from Congress may further violate the Constitution of the United States; Now, therefore,

Be it resolved by the House of Representatives:

SECTION 1. The North Carolina House of Representatives supports the State’s right to claim sovereignty under the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution of the United States over all powers not otherwise enumerated and granted to the federal government or reserved to the people by the Constitution of the United States.

SECTION 2. The North Carolina House of Representatives urges the federal government, as the agent of the State, to cease and desist, effective immediately, mandates that are beyond the scope of any constitutionally delegated powers.

SECTION 3. The North Carolina House of Representatives further urges that compulsory federal legislation which directs states to comply under threat of civil or criminal penalties or sanctions or requires states to pass legislation or lose federal funding be prohibited or repealed.

SECTION 4. The Principal Clerk shall transmit a certified copy of this resolution to the President of the United States, the President of the United States Senate, the Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, and each member of the North Carolina Congressional Delegation.

SECTION 5. This resolution is effective upon adoption.

I took a look in my crystal ball and, for the life of me; I could see no indication of the effect the sovereignty movement will have on future relations between the states and their “agent”… the federal government. Only time will tell. However, I must tell you, it does this old southern boy’s heart good to see “State’s Rights” again brought to the fore in the United States.

James Madison, The Founder we refer to as “The Father of the Constitution,” wrote the following: “To preserve the Republic, it is in the hands of the people. We have staked the whole future of American civilization not upon the power of government, far from it. We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government; upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments"

As with all Americans we “Southerners” get a lot of things wrong. But we have been right on the issue of “State’s Rights” all along. See, southerners had a bit more than just a signature invested in the creation of the Constitution, itself. There was never any doubt, in our minds, about who “the greater” and who “the lesser” was/is in this association of states and federal government. I must tell you, I am more than a little pleased to find the names of several northern and western states, and even northeastern states, included in the list of the names of the states involved in the State Sovereignty Movement.

Washington would do well to take notice, serious notice, of this movement. The Congress and the President may have forgotten, but it is “the boss” filing this complaint. It is very easy to sit in Washington and spend North Carolina’s money, or the money of the folks from Texas or Oklahoma. But, believe me when I tell you that we have been paying attention and we do not like having our state’s treasuries looted by a heavy-handed federal government.

The current Congress would also do well to read up on the “Ordinance of Nullification” passed by my home state of South Carolina in 1828. You can read it for yourself HERE. Suffice it to say State Sovereignty is NOT a NEW issue in this country. It appears we will have to visit it -- yet again.

America Has Become A Nation Ruled By Emotion Rather Than Reason!

We have “Europeanized” America. In November of 2006 America placed the crowning achievement of the Socialist movement, a Democrat/Socialist government, in charge of America. They offered, “cradle to the grave” Nanny Statehood to America and… Americans bought it! Karl Marx has finally triumphed over reason in America!

It no longer matters that socialism has failed everywhere it has been tried on the globe, Americans “felt” they wanted the promises Socialism offered. Never mind the fact that socialism cannot deliver, just the fact that the socialist/democrats made the promises was an emotional boost to that half of our nation who are so unable to think, work, or produce anything without the government underwriting their entire existence.

Just look at the crowds lusting after Obama! They WANT something. They want to RECEIVE something, to GET something, from the government. Something FREE! Never mind that there is no such thing. They’re not bright enough to grasp that concept. Hope? Hope for WHAT, exactly? Change? Change to what exactly?

So now America is no better than some of the European nations who have depended on America to be their protector, their international police force, and their Big Brother. With the Obama Regime in power in the US, Europe, once again, is on it’s own. They simply have not recognized that fact yet. Already their enemies are making plans for the takeover of many eastern European nations and those bordering the Atlantic. It will not be long in coming.

But, what of America? Well, America is an idea whose time, apparently, has passed. Much as ancient Rome collapsed in on itself… America has imploded. That strong central government, which began with the Lincoln Administration, married to “feel good politics” and the steady march of socialism has sealed America’s fate. America, it would seem, is done for.

Soon there will be an ethereal world government ruled my Islamofacists who will keep the peoples in check with the ever present threat of the imposition of the death sentence for any infraction of their religious code.

It can’t happen here, in America, you say??? Well, there was a time, not too long ago, when I felt that way too. But no longer. Americans have now decided there is nothing worth fighting and giving one’s life for. Nothing! Americans have decided that SLAVERY is the only lifestyle acceptable to them. We have become willing to give up that thing our forefathers gave their lives for… freedom. It’s just too much work. Freedom costs too much. Slavery, on the other hand, costs nothing… and we do not have to fight, or do any of those disagreeable things which freedom demands. No, slavery is the way to go.

That rot, at our core, has finally eaten its way to the surface of America. As evidence of that, we offer up the following:

The American Family is a joke. It no longer exists. As a matter of fact, we can no longer define what a family is! Two fathers? Two Mommies? Men married to men. Women married to women. See what I mean? There is no home life in America today. Home is simply a place one sleeps. That’s all.

America has opened the doors on what used to be our borders and thrown away the key. We have invited the hordes from all over the world to move in and take over. Now, we Americans have to learn THEIR language instead of the way it ought to be. We have become “two nations inside one country”.

Our children are raised by “caregivers” at the various daycare centers and then handed off to “teachers” in the “government indoctrination centers” sometimes called public schools. And finally, they are urged to finish their leftist/socialist indoctrination at the so-called institutions of higher learning where the REAL socialist ideals are implanted. Then… they are set free to wreak havoc on the nation their forefathers bled and died to provide for them.

We have feminized our churches, our government, our military, and our businesses, even the Main Stream Media. Woman have been taught they can have it All. Nobody told here is was/is a LIE! Nobody mentioned the cost to her. Now, it no longer matters.

We have gangs of young people, little more than children, roaming our streets, as the barbarians and vandals of old, striking terror in the hearts of the people in their communities. Why? Because they have no home, no parents, and especially no mother, to teach them in the way they should go. Now, our own children are our enemies.

Our men are no longer men. They are something well short of manhood (Metrosexuals!). Men have been taught that being male, and acting as a male OUGHT to act, is somehow abnormal. The American male is so confused he has lost his identify. He is a pitiful sight. When the maleness of a society goes, so does that society. For the foundation of any society is based on the males of that society. The protection of that society is the burden of the same males. When those males are taught that they ought not take up those responsibilities… their reason for existence is lost, and they are confused, and that society is doomed. I offer Europe as an example.

Women, attempting to take up that burden of male leadership, are a pitiful and pathetic sight. Estrogen is no substitute for testosterone! As a result there is little if any action, and when action does take place it is based upon emotions rather than reason. (Example: The US House of Representatives!) It is the worse possible combination for any society seeking to continue its existence.

Look at the Mainstream Media in America today. Try viewing a news show on the TV. You will find more women than men as anchors. Why? Because they are pleasant to look upon and… sex sells the products of the sponsors… and no matter what they tell you… that is the sole reason those "blonde cuties" are in front of the cameras! If the networks were actually serious about delivering the news in a powerful, impactful, way, the anchor would be a male. That, of course is NOT what they are interested in. The networks are interested in SELLING the airtime and making money. The news, itself, has become only filler, between the commercials and the entertainment, as the networks rake in the loot.

Our churches have become feminized. Women in the pulpits, in the office of Bishop (strictly against Scripture) and, as a result, their membership rolls are shrinking. The mainstream denominations are losing membership in droves! Visit any Mainstream Denomination’s Sunday Worship Services and count the women in attendance as opposed to the men in attendance. You will quickly see that men are staying home. In my case, I don’t need a woman in the pulpit telling me how to behave. My mother took care of that… and my wife took over from her!

Our military can no longer win wars. Why? Because we are too concerned over how the actions we need to take, to secure victory, will be perceived by the remainder of the world. That is most certainly not a manly trait. Even our soldiers are being put on trial for killing the enemy! Does that tell you anything about the lack of commitment to victory??? It ought to!

Having said all the above, and expecting to be boiled in oil for it, I ask only that you think about it. Look around you. The evidence is everywhere. America is but a shell of her former self. The country has a mortal; a terminal, illness and any reasonable person would not expect recovery.

Watching a strong man wither away and die is always painful to those who love him. That is the sort of pain I feel as I watch my country die -- right before my eyes.
