Why do we need a viable 3rd party?

This was a comment I made on a thread here and at INSIGHT on Freedom, I have thought about it and I believe this needs to be a bit more than a comment...

Why do we need a viable 3rd party?

Weak minded individuals got Obama elected, and the weakest of the weak was the GOP/RNC that thought Gramps McLame and Northwoods Barbie could get the job done…

The RNC/GOP is the biggest enemy Conservatism faces today! The Dems blow Conservatives off, they call us *Teabaggers*, using their crude sexual reference to the word as a disparaging description. Until the Dems and the moonbat left started using Teabagging as disparaging remake, I had never heard a reference made of that description. Leave it to the loony left, and folks of that nature, to bastardize an innocent word. Look at today's definition of gay!

The RNC/GOP blows Conservatives off until election time, then they kiss our asses and make promises that can’t be kept. The RNC knows, they can't get anyone elected without the Conservative vote. The RNC is as far from being Conservative as is the DNC, but they still pretend, they still cajole, they still BS their way into the wallets of those that just don't know the difference! The RNC/GOP needs to be called exactly what they are, Dem-Lite!

This idea wasn’t stolen by me, I am not plagiarizing the ideas of others, I hatched a bunch of this. I am DONE with the RNC/GOP, they have rendered themselves irrelevant. We must have a real Conservative party and here's why.

If Michael Steele is an example of RNC Conservatism, the RNC is sunk. If we can’t offer up real Conservative Americans as candidates, if ALL the RNC/GOP can garner is the old, weak-assed examples they have lately, we, as a nation, are sunk!

A viable 3rd party is needed, desperately, and I don’t mean some revamped Libertarian, wannabe Republican BS like we’ve seen with Ron Paul and his bunch of merry moonbats.

A 3rd party is needed NOW! The TEA Party may not be the end all be all, but it’s a start, one that I am proud to be attached to!

Since I left the RNC/GOP, in principle at least, in the last administration, and certainly during the last election cycle; since I can't count Jeb Bush or Bobby Jindal or Mitt Romney or any of the other clowns those folks can run at Obugger as worth voting for; since I'm fed up with both parties stealing my money and giving it to themselves or someone who either didn't earn it or earned way more than me...count me in.

As much as I like Bobby Jindal, I'm afraid, he too, is being caught in the clutches. I'm real tired of hearing the Big Tent crap. What good is a big tent if it's full of freakin' holes? We need the RIGHT tent.

Kate, Bobby Jindal is a personal friend of my family, he is one of the really good guys, up and coming, learning the ropes and standing FOR the people, at least so far, and again, I DO have 1st hand, personal knowledge... He is a good Christian, he's got a lot of other *good* sides I can't, and won't enumerate here...

I want some HARD damned facts, I want to KNOW why you feel that Jindal has been "caught in the clutches"... These statements are NOT going to fly as posted, we need FACTS. If it's satire, say so, if it's opinion, say so, if it's fact, link it to citation, it's that simple...

Hey, man...you should smack me too. I'm the one who started the name bashing.

Don't get me wrong...I like Jindal...I like what he's doing...but I don't think people will get behind him, or enough of them, that is. It's just a feeling I have, not necessarily based on fact, just some hazy kind of notion that tells me his time for power or ascension, for lack of a better term, is just not now.

But I could be very, very wrong (happens all the time), and I'm willing to give him a chance.

I just don't see anyone rising up to take control of the Republican Party right now...or in the future. I see lots of good people, but no one coming and seizing the "opportunity" in crisis, to quote the chief of staff for our dearly beloved president (and that last clause is indeed satire).

Bobby has made it VERY clear, he has NO desire to run for POTUS at this time, Louisiana needs him right now, desperately needs him... And with that I agree... I also believe he has a lot to learn regarding the office of POTUS, as does Jindal himself, the man is no dummy, and as I said, Bobby is up and coming, learning the ropes, but I defy ANYONE to show me where Jindal IS IN THE CLUTCHES!

No Dave, you stated opinion, Kate made a statement, an accusation of sorts, against a personal friend, and it may well BE her personal opinion, but I want to see HARD facts that he is "In the clutches"... I am not saying Kate, or anyone else can't state an opinion, of course they can, but when some bullshit gets spewed, I don't care WHO spews it, there had better be some facts, not just *a feeling*...

Am I pissed off?? You're goddamned right I am...

I said....and I repeat....I'm afraid he's being caught in the clutches. Fred...that IS an opinion. I was in a hurry, and meant to include the word 'might'....as in might being caught in the clutches. Grammar isn't one of my strong suits first thing in the morning. Criminy!

Maybe you need to wait til later in the day to go spouting opinion then... 1st thing in the AM?? Kate, I have read your stuff for too long, I know your writing and moods as well as I know my own... Sorry, but until you present some reason for that accusation, it's still a sore spot...

I'm not making any accusations. As much as I like Jindal, and believe he's one of the best things to happen to the Republican party in a long time, I am very leery of ALL politicians.

OK, whatever...
